The entry-level 2024 Dry Riesling Lahoma Vineyard is startlingly golden-hued for the variety. Taut, phenolic and grippy, it shows impressive texture and internal tension. Wintergreen, white pepper, gunflint and ginger spice run down the palate with linearity and drive. Fruit takes a back seat to structure here, but that feels like a direct reflection of terroir. Crushed rocks, slate and a whisper of white smoke linger on the finish. This is ridiculously high class for the price, a testament to what the Finger Lakes can deliver in the right hands.
