A pretty and balanced wine with blackberry, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. Medium body. Fine tannins and a polished finish. Shows finesse for Toro. Aged for 14 months in wood, a small percentage of which was used. From organically grown grapes.

The entry-level 2021 Termes wants to be an approachable and easier-to-understand varietal expression of the Tinta de Toro/Tempranillo sourced from younger vines (25 to 50 years old). It's ripe at 15% alcohol, juicy and fruit-driven, with a tender mouthfeel and fine tannins. Forty percent of the barrels used for the aging were 400-liter ones, and only 20% of them were new. The élevage lasted for 14 months. 142,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2023. (Luis Gutiérrez)

A well-knit red, with a lovely range of plum sauce and black raspberry, licorice, cocoa powder and bay leaf notes structured by limber, fine-grained tannins. Harmonious, with a spiced finish. Drink now through 2037. 13,000 cases made, 7,000 cases imported.

The 2022 Termes is Tinta de Toro from old vineyards in Toro. Frames by delicate elevage, it opens with red fruit, plum and a touch of blueberry, layered with dried herbs and fine oak. It is attractive and polished. Broad and slow-moving on the palate, with a measured richness, it feels integrated through both fruit and oak. The warm year gives it notable concentration though without weighing down the flow. Drink 2026-2042.

The 2021 Termes, aged 14 months in French oak (20% new, half 400 liters), displays a garnet red hue. This wine exudes aromas of cherries, undergrowth, and a balsamic undertone with hints of dried flowers. Dry, intense and taut, the freshly reactive tannins are mellow in the rich mid-palate. This is a delicious and authentic Toro red.<br/><br/>
