This Valpolicella opens with lifted aromas of fresh and macerated cherries, tobacco, licorice and vanilla. The rounded palate is full of black-raspberry jam flavors spiked with wild thyme, violets and sweet baking spices finishing with supple tannins and bright acidity.

This Valpolicella is unique in that a portion of the wine has been dried (like in Amarone) for a little over a month. This blend of fresh and dried immediately shows on the palate with aromas of tart red cherries and then dried black cherries mixed with sweet and savory spices, dried flowers and fresh tobacco. The palate mirrors the nose and is lush but pops with vibrant acidity on the finish.

Peppery wild berry and lavender tones wafts up from the 2019 Valpolicella Classico Superiore L’lmperfetto. It’s soft-textured and pure in style, with mineral-tinged red fruits and savory herbal rotes that form toward the close. The 2019 finishes with medium length, classically dry and with a salty flourish. The l’lmperfetto makes for a perfect Valpolicella to bring to the dinner table.
