Critical Acclaim

VN 93 Vinous 2022 vintage September 2025

The 2022 Valpolicella Clássico Superiore Casalvegri mixes nuances of tangerine with dusty rose and dried black cherries to form its inviting bouquet. It sweeps across the palate with silken textures while displaying energy and class, with polished red berry fruits and mineral tones guided by crisp acidity. Long and gently tannic, the 2022 leaves wildberry saturation and hints of Earl Grey that fade slowly. This exciting and complex Valpolicella will also hold up well through medium-term cellaring.

JS 92 James Suckling 2022 vintage February 2025

A restrained wine with aromas of licorice, bright red cherries and fresh violets. Medium-bodied, it shows density and weight, with long, refreshing acidity and quite firm yet velvety tannins. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

VN 90 Vinous 2019 vintage

Crushed stone, graphite, dried cherry and currant form a dusty and coy but seductive bouquet on the 2019 Vaipolicella Clássico Superiore Casalvegri. This is a pure and cool- toned expression, with tart red and shades of blue fruit and bright acids that make this a pleasure to taste. It leaves a subtle twang of tannins, while tapering off perfumed and lightly structured with a hint of sour citrus. Very nice. The Casalvegri is a single-vineyard Vaipolicella Superiore that's picked early to maintain acidity, and it matures for eighteen months in large neutral oak casks. Give it another year to fully come together.
