Prominent green herbal notes dominate the nose. There's cherry and black currant fruit, too, along with a little clove spice. The palate is mid-weight with plump currant fruit at the fore, framed by powerful but well-integrated, if somewhat drying tannins. Remarkably, considering the climate, this clocks in at 14.5% abv, the warm vintage evident.
