Tasting Notes
Opaque, deep purple-ruby in color. The nose is powerfully aromatic and dark, offering concentrated scents of wild cassis, crushed mountain blackberries, and plum reduction, interwoven with nuances of graphite, crushed rock, espresso, dried violet, and sweet baking spices. Full-bodied and intensely structured on the palate, it delivers a dense core of black fruit framed by firm, fine-grained mountain tannins, seamless acidity, and an enduring, savory, mineral-laced finish.

Black raspberries, cassis, spring flowers, and tobacco notes dominate the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, a beautiful, classic, medium to full-bodied, incredibly satisfying Cabernet that does everything right. Drink this complex, perfumed, elegant beauty over the coming two decades. The blend is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, aged in 81% new French oak. (Jeb Dunnuck)
Very dark and winey in profile, with steeped plum, blackberry and boysenberry fruit flavors laced with licorice snap, bramble and apple wood. The only one of the Mt Brave wines that isn’t 100% varietal, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder includes 4% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. Offering hints of sage and lavender entwined among waves of cassis, this full-bodied wine may not be as broad or expansive in the mouth as the La Jota, but it also might be a touch juicier and longer on the finish.
