Leconte’s NV Blanc de Noirs La Terre Mère, built on the 2021 vintage and supplemented by 20% reserve wines from 2020, is composed entirely of Pinot Meunier sourced from six parcels in Troissy, planted during the 1990s. These mid-slope vineyards, with predominantly north and northwest exposures, yield a wine of notable tension. Disgorged in October 2024 with a dosage of three grams per liter, it opens with a bouquet of grapefruit zest, green apple and lemon mingling with dried strawberries and spice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, taut and saline, with a core of crisp fruit, mouthwatering acidity and a persistent, saline finish. Tasted alongside its Arietis counterpart, it shows more pronounced incisiveness.
