Critical Acclaim

RP 96 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2022 vintage

The 2022 Chardonnay UV - El Diablo Vineyard is compelling and expressive! It has arresting aromas of quince paste, peach preserves, honey, ginger, crème brûlée and exotic spices. The full-bodied palate is satiny and expansive with tremendously concentrated, kaleidoscopic flavors. It’s balanced by mouthwatering acidity and has a hauntingly long finish.

JS 96 James Suckling 2022 vintage

An energetic and serious wine with wonderful length, layers and linear acidity. On the nose, creme brulee, lemon oil and candied citrus. The palate is tense and spicy with notes of white pepper, lemon curd and salinity and a clean, lingering finish. Medium- to full-bodied. Drink or hold.

JD 95 Jeb Dunnuck 2022 vintage

A medium yellow hue that’s just a shade deeper, the 2022 Chardonnay El Diablo Vineyard comes from an east-facing site and opens to notes of smoky wet stones, quince, white grapefruit zest, and fresh peach. The palate is silky in texture, with ripe acidity and a long, lingering feel, featuring citrus oils and hints of vanilla on the finish. Drink 2025-2037.

SP 95 Wine Spectator 2022 vintage

Wafts of beeswax and litsea oil add complexity to the core of peach preserves, lemon curd and grilled pineapple. Fresh and bold, highlighting details of cardamom and vibrant acidity. Marzipan, orange blossom and baked apple notes are plump and generous, and a drizzle of wildflower honey lingers on the finish. Drink now through 2036. 260 cases made.
