Critical Acclaim
The 2023 Old Hill Heritage Wine soars from the glass with lifted aromatics. Bright red-toned fruit, spice, mint, blood orange, cinnamon, cedar and new leather are all beautifully sculpted in this nuanced, captivating red blend. This field blend of more than varieties is so aromatically intense. Painstakingly tended to by the Bucklin family, Old Hill is quite simply one of the most pedigreed vineyard sites in the United States. What a gorgeous wine this is.

The 2020 Old Hill Heritage Wine shows why this site is considered one of the very best in all of Sonoma. The pedigree is evident. A wine of volume, textural depth and intensity, the 2020 is a showstopper. Black cherry, chocolate, licorice and dark spice lend tons of complexity to this statuesque Zinfandel-based field blend. All the elements come together so beautifully. It’s hard to fully capture the Old Hill with words, as it really transcends descriptors. But when you taste it, you know. You know you are tasting a wine from a very special place. (Antonio Galloni)
Wow, an old-vine field blend that’s so rich, concentrated and luxurious in texture. Delicious blackberries, boysenberries, blueberries and raspberries on a broad, melted texture. Light tannins and balancing acidity buoy the generous, mouth-coating fruit flavors that expand on the palate and linger in the finish. Full-bodied. Drink now or hold.
A vigorously structured version, with a deep core of bright acidity and briary tannins, this red overflows with personality, offering blackberry, currant, bitter chocolate, clove and other dark spices. Builds tension toward the firm finish. Zinfandel, Grenache, Mataro, Syrah, Petit Sirah and Alicante. Best from 2026 through 2036. 350 cases made.
