Critical Acclaim
The 2017 Barbaresco Rabajà-Bas is impressive. Dark and resonant in the glass, with terrific depth, the Rabajà-Bas is a deeply intriguing wine. Black cherry, licorice, smoke, tobacco and dark spice bring out the more virile side of Nebbiolo. A Barbaresco of breadth and power, the 2017 is so expressive today. (Antonio Galloni)
A nervy, savory wine, the 2018 Barbaresco Rabajà-Bas has quite a bit of character. Sweet macerated cherry, spice, dried herbs, tobacco, cedar and crushed autumn leaves are all very nicely lifted. Beams of tannin give this deceptively mid-weight Barbaresco a good kick of energy and persistence that builds into a finish laced with balsamic accents. I especially like the translucent expression of Nebbiolo here.

The 2019 Barbaresco Rabajà-Bas is super-expressive right out of the gate. A beguiling melange of dark cherry, herbs, menthol, licorice, earthiness and dried flowers gives the 2019 strong savory tones to play off the Nebbiolo fruit. Translucent elegance and power come together beautifully in this deep, structured Barbaresco. Give this a year or two to soften.
