About This Wine

Producer Notes

This special anniversary vintage celebrates 50 years of making Cabernet in Napa Valley. It results from happy soils, healthy vines, low crop yield, low to no irrigation, and harvest at high ripeness levels – all key ingredients of the Caymus style. The wine is rich and round on the palate, with textural tannins that are non-bitter. Evidence of French oak, but not overplayed. Acidity for balance, but not tart. There are no hurdles to enjoying the delicious essence of this wine, which exhibits an expression of the style for which Caymus is known.

Critical Acclaim

SP 91 Wine Spectator 2022 vintage November 15, 2024

A creamy, forward style, with a core of warmed raspberry and boysenberry preserves infused liberally with mocha and melted licorice. Shows a late flicker of chaparral. This is meant for near-term hedonism. Drink now through 2034. (James Molesworth)
