A well-spiced version, with a fine, creamy mousse that seems almost viscous, wrapping around a firm spine of acidity and carrying flavors of apple compote, dried white cherry, mandarin orange peel and slivered almond. Disgorged December 2022. Drink now through 2028. 2,147 cases imported.

A blend of four vintages, this fine, mineral-driven Champagne has a taut character. The beginnings of softness are discernible as the bottling ages. It’s likely to be a delicious wine, from 2023.

A lithe Champagne, bright and lively on the palate, with a delicate array of poached quince, lemon pound cake, chopped almond, spun honey and ground spice flavors. Expressive, without excessive weight. Disgorged December 2013. Drink now through 2019. 2,500 cases made.

Jean Laurent’s NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Disg. 3/2013 leads with a greenhouse-like sense of flowering and leafing things along with toast, lemon zest, and a whiff of outright yeastiness. Generously apple-y and lemony on a polished palate and with a discreet note of perfectly supportive sweetness, this finishes with toast-, salt, bitter herb- and apple pip-tinged fruit juiciness, bound to give pleasure over at least the coming year.
