About This Wine
Producer Notes
Fruit-driven and full-flavored, this sparkling wine featuring Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier has become one of Chandon's most popular wines. Chandon Blanc de noirs is characterized by a delicate salmon color. Dark cherry, currant and strawberry flavors dominate both aroma and flavor, with hints of cassis and blackberry. The red fruit flavors build in the mid-palate and finish with a lingering creamy texture. Try this versatile wine with everything from fruity to spicy to salty foods such as roasted beets, mushrooms and salmon as well as Southwestern, Latin American and Asian dishes.
Critical Acclaim
This tight, toasty wine grips its white-cherry and raspberry flavors in zingy acidity and fine-grained effervescence. Complex nutty and doughy nuances enhance crisp and appetizing fruit flavors, giving it finesse.
Made from 93% Pinot Noir and 7% Pinot Meunier, this is a lovely sparkling wine, rounded and layered with moderate acidity. The flavors dance around aspects of wild strawberry, raspberry and melon, with a lasting tease of hazelnut.
Up front and fan-friendly, this version offers plump strawberry and cherry flavors laced with toasty spices. Drink now. 11,000 cases mad
Fresh and lively, with appealing lemon and strawberry flavors that finish on a steely note. Drink now. 50,000 cases made.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Blanc de Noir (literally, “white from black”) sparkling wines, and the Chandon is a favorite for value. Produced from the noble black grapes of Champagne, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this California bubbly is bursting with ripe strawberry, pomegranate and white plum notes, overlaid with lovely floral violet aromas. The tangy fruit flavors are lively on the tongue, and the mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. Although terrific on its own (for sipping or celebrations), I love to serve this with salmon, canapés or omelets.
