Critical Acclaim

JD 94 Jeb Dunnuck 2021 vintage

Leading off the Cabernet Sauvignon releases, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is a larger production release and is 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and nearly equal portions of Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Merlot. Smoky black fruits, graphite, crushed stone, and tobacco notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, powerful 2021 offering ample mid-palate depth, a layered, textured, balanced mouthfeel, building tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It’s a brilliant bottle of wine that will benefit from short-term cellaring and have over two decades of longevity.

RP 93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2021 vintage Mar 29, 2024

Domineered by scents of ripe cherries and loamy earth, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is a strong effort, a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 7% Malbec and 6% Merlot. Medium to full-bodied, with an appealingly taut structure and silky tannins, it should be approachable young yet capable of aging for more than a decade. (Joe Czerwinski)

JD 93 Jeb Dunnuck 2022 vintage

A killer wine and great value, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature reveals tons of cassis and darker, almost blue fruits intermixed with sappy spring flowers, crushed stone, and lead pencil nuances. Based on 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 7% Malbec, and 2% Merlot, it's balanced and medium to full-bodied, with beautiful tannins. This is a no-brainer purchase that will drink beautifully for 10-12 years.

WE 93 Wine Enthusiast 2022 vintage

Concentration and complexity join forces with aromas of mountain herbs, cedar carrying into flavors of cassis and dark chocolate, graphite and integrated oak spices. Juicy with intensity and an a mouthwatering finish.

VN 92 Vinous 2021 vintage Dec 2023

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is a dense, potent wine. A strong mid-palate and core of fruit gives the 2021 its sense of poise. Plum, blood orange, sweet spice and Kirsch fill out the layers. At once both plush and structured, the 2021 is a fine choice for drinking over the next handful of years, but it is a big wine. (Antonio Galloni)

RP 92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2022 vintage

Well-priced for the quality, Chappellet's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature serves up bold aromas of mocha, cassis and black cherries. In the mouth, it's full-bodied and packed with flavor, nicely concentrated and framed by supple tannins. It's not overripe—a real risk this vintage—but does have a pronounced mocha note on the lingering finish.
