Critical Acclaim

WE 93 Wine Enthusiast 2022 vintage

Reserved aromas of grilled meat, red currant, black plum, black olive and dried red cherry open on the nose. A chalky palate dusted with graphite shavings is supported by grippy tannins. Decant and drink now, but this still-youthful wine would benefit from additional age in bottle if opened 2026 onwards to give you its best.

RP 92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2021 vintage

The 2021 Moulin-à-Vent originates from eight different vineyards: Rochegrès, Carquelin, Champ de Cour, Thorins, Les Vérillats, La Roche, La Rochelle and Les Caves. It's a lush expression of the vintage, with a fruit-driven core of juicy red and black currants, cherries and red plums with top notes of lilac petals, dried sage, sweet spices and white pepper. On the medium-bodied palate, the tannins are finely woven, lending gentle support to the succulent, impressively concentrated flavors, making for a seamless, supple mouthfeel with a tangy finish. It's one of the most accessible wines from the estate's 2021 lineup.

JS 92 James Suckling 2022 vintage

Minerally and savory Moulin-a-Vent showing wet stone, bark, strawberry and rosemary aromas. It’s medium-bodied, fresh and elegant with fine-grained tannins. Excellent length. Drink or hold.

SP 90 Wine Spectator 2022 vintage February 2025

Round and mouthcoating, with a tug of tar and earth behind red currant and wild herbs. Hints of mocha and espresso add to the depth, with mesquite smoke hovering throughout. There's nice length to the salty close. Drink now through 2029. 2,000 cases imported.

SP 89 Wine Spectator 2021 vintage June 10, 2024

Lithe, earthy and elegant, with intriguing and toasty earth notes enrobing violet, racy red currant and tobacco leaf accents. Grilled, smoky mesquite and thyme hints add depth, while wet stone and iron elements bring a mineral backbone. There’s a tug of tar on the distinctive, medium finish. Drink now through 2027. 1,200 cases imported. (Kristen Bieler)
