Critical Acclaim

JS 93 James Suckling 2022 vintage

This is structured and meaty with broad and velvety tannins. Full body. Powerful and muscular with depth and length. Compact and lingering. Very pure.

VN 91 Vinous 2019 vintage Jan 2023

The 2019 Deyrem Valentin has a lovely nose with crushed wild strawberry, raspberry and light rose petal scents. The Cabernet is expressive here. The palate is medium-bodied with white pepper-tinged red fruit, good grip and a lovely graphite note towards the finish that feels fleshy and generous. You could almost broach this now, but I’d prefer to afford it another 12 months in bottle. (Neal Martin)

JD 90 Jeb Dunnuck 2019 vintage 4/11/2022

Well worth checking out, the 2019 Château Deyrem Valentin shows the lively, elegant style of the vintage. Giving up complex red and black fruits, lots of floral, sappy, cedary herb-like notes, soft tannins, and a good finish, it’s a pleasure-bent effort to drink over the coming decade. (Jeb Dunnuck)

VN 90 Vinous 2022 vintage

The 2022 Deyrem-Valentin has a perfumed bouquet that unfurls in the glass: brambly red fruit, hints of star anise and sous-bois. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and a firm grip nicely balanced with a fresh, gently caressing finish. Prudent winemaking here.
