WE 95 Wine Enthusiast 2021 vintage 7/1/2024

Black fruit and toast aromas give this wine its perfumed character. It is generous—celebrating Cabernet Sauvignon—and structured, dominated by succulent blackberry fruits. It has aging potential. Drink from 2027. (Roger Voss)

RP 94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2020 vintage Apr 6, 2023

The most underrated wine in the Lafite stable these days has put in another strong performance with the 2020 Duhart-Milon, as this somewhat cooler, later-ripening site is well adapted to warmer vintages. Unfurling to reveal aromas of cassis, plums, cigar wrapper, loamy soil and violets, it’s medium to full-bodied, broad and layered, with polished tannins, terrific depth at the core and a long, sapid finish. (William Kelley)

JS 94 James Suckling 2020 vintage Sunday, May 14, 2023

A firm and racy Duhart with currants, chocolate and walnuts. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. Lovely subtle fruit. A bright finish. Succulent and refined. Savory. Very, very fine. 72% cabernet sauvignon and 28% merlot. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)

WE 94 Wine Enthusiast 2020 vintage 4/1/2023

This ripe wine has some serious tannins and rich black fruits. Behind the structure, a swath of black fruits gives the wine concentration and ripeness. Drink this textured wine from 2027. (Roger Voss)

VN 94 Vinous 2022 vintage

The 2022 Duhart-Milon is a big, rich wine. Ample and expansive on the palate, it has so much to offer. Cabernet Sauvignon takes center stage as dark-toned fruit, graphite, and expressive savory nuances open with aeration. Huge swaths of creamy tannins wrap it all together, building to a substantial, explosive finish. The 2022 is an impressive Duhart. (AG)

JD 94 Jeb Dunnuck 2020 vintage

The 2020 Château Duhart-Milon is a much more concentrated, serious wine. Based on 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot hitting 12.5% natural alcohol, with a pH of 3.91, its deep ruby/plum color is followed by medium to full-bodied aromas and flavors of darker currants, cherries, damp earth, ripe tobacco, and graphite. Beautifully balanced, elegant, and straight-up seamless, it shows the classic, focused style of the vintage and will be a modern day classic from this terroir.

JS 94 James Suckling 2021 vintage

This is a really pretty Duhart and fans out nicely on the palate with medium soft tannins that are polished. Gorgeous young wine. 81% cabernet sauvignon and 19% merlot.

RP 94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate NV vintage

The 2022 Duhart-Milon is showing beautifully, bursting from the glass with aromas of mulberries, blackcurrants, pencil shavings and rose petal. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and textural, it's sweet and layered, with a gourmand core of fruit underpinned by powdery tannins and lively acids. A decade ago, Duhart could be a somewhat austere wine, but today it's much more integrated and harmonious. The 2022 is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot.

SP 93 Wine Spectator 2016 vintage Mar 31, 2019

This is very vivid, with racy violet, cassis and plum aromas and flavors coursing through, laced with a mouthwatering anise note and leading to a long, focused finish. Displays a terrific iron underpinning. Best from 2024 through 2038. 22,083 cases made.

VN 93 Vinous 2016 vintage Jan 2019

The 2016 Duhart-Milon has a pure, well-defined bouquet of blackberry, briar and crushed stone aromas, all very focused and penetrating. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and perhaps more approachable than the Duharts of the past, more malleable in the mouth. Quite rich in style considering the property in question, yet there is wonderful salinity toward the caressing finish. Excellent. 13% alcohol.

SP 93 Wine Spectator 2018 vintage Mar 31, 2021

This is packed with succulent blackberry and black currant fruit, along with mulling spice, sweet tobacco, licorice root and alder notes. Youthfully jumbled, but the pieces are there, the mouthfeel is alluring and the length is there for sure. For the cellar. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2025 through 2036.

JD 92 Jeb Dunnuck 2021 vintage 4/3/2024

The 2021 Château Duhart-Milon brings another level of richness, yet it still plays in the pretty, medium-bodied, elegant style of the vintage. Slightly darker red and black fruits, tobacco, and leather all define the aromatics, and it has ultra-fine tannins, beautiful overall balance, and the class to evolve nicely for 15 years or more. I think it’s a beautiful wine. (Jeb Dunnuck)

RP 92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2021 vintage

The 2021 Duhart-Milon has turned out beautifully, offering up incipiently complex aromas of dark berries and cassis mingled with notions of orange zest, burning embers, pencil lead and iris. Medium to full-bodied, suave and polished, with a layered core of fruit, supple tannins and a long, sapid finish, it will offer a broad drinking window.
