Critical Acclaim
Concentrated aromas of blackberry and blueberry laced with anise, vanilla, clove and dried wildflowers waft from the glass. The refined palate gives more baked plum notes with generous amounts of sweet and savory spices followed by fine tannins, making it a perfect complement to your next barbecue. Drink now–2035. Brown spice, crushed fall leaves cherry sauce and a lifting hint of fresh mint form a darkly alluring bouquet as the 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino Memoira opens in the glass. This washes across the palate with a velvety wave of ripe red and black fruits, underscored by saline minerals and a burst of spiced citrus. Long and potent, the 2015 leaves a web of fine tannins that are surprisingly sweet and round, nicely framing the notes of sour wild berries and dark chocolate that linger. (Eric Guido)
Steeped raspberry, singed orange peel, black tea leaf and dark chocolate notes are bright and appealing in this silky red, which is tightly meshed with sculpted tannins and a spicy, mineral-driven underpinning, ending with a chewy finish. Drink now through 2035. 7,500 cases made, 750 cases imported. (Alison Napjus)
This is structured and taut with rich, exuberant fruit, lots of spices and earthy, tarry nuances. Full-bodied with fine but tight tannins. Spiced and cedary aftertaste. It’s powerful, but nicely shaped and balanced. 100% sagrantino. Drink or hold.

Aromas of resin, smoke and mountain herbs on the nose lace the dried cranberry and cherry fruit on display in this firm, integrated red, with mandarin orange peel and iron notes. Fresh, with good length through the chewy, spiced finish. Drink now through 2036. 10,000 cases made, 3,000 cases imported.
