Daou Vineyards Daou Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 1.5L

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with 10% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc and aged 10 months in 60% new French oak. Deep ruby-purple in color, it opens with notes of rose petal perfume, cinnamon and garrigue with a core of black and red currant fruit and meaty, savory undertones. The palate is medium-bodied, silky and elegant with fresh, uplifted flavors and a lovely array of spices lingering on the finish. This is an excellent value! (Erin Brooks)

It’s amazing that the Daou brothers can produce a formidable Cab that is this accessible at such a young age. The palate combines rich blackberry sauce with espresso bean and cocoa, as lingering, sappy tannins extend through the finish. (Matt Kettmann)

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is impossible to ignore. Violet pastille and sweet spice complement a burst of crushed blackberries and cherries. Silken and seamless, it swirls across the palate with an energetic mix of ripe wild berries and citrus, all motivated by a core of vibrant acidity. While gently tannic, the 2022 remains fresh and lively throughout, leaving a tart blackberry tinge that carries on. (Eric Guido)
