About This Wine
Tasting Notes
Translucent ruby in color. The nose is vibrant and aromatic, bursting with fresh red cherry, wild raspberry, orange peel, and damp earth notes, supported by delicate hints of dried herbs and subtle spice. On the palate, it is light-to-medium-bodied and lively, driven by the signature Van Duzer Corridor wind-driven acidity and fine, lithe tannins, finishing clean and bright with lingering notes of tart cranberry, pomegranate, and mineral forest floor.

Critical Acclaim
A bit austere when first opened, this rewards extra breathing time (or decanting) with impressive details from biodynamic farming. Beetroot, dried herbs, spicy floral notes and even stem flavors are in the mix, but with none of the bitterness that too often accompanies wines in which the fruit flavors are subdued. Raspberry punches through, along with pomegranate and a hint of bay leaf. The wine is fermented with wild yeasts and aged 22 months in 15% new oak. (Paul Gregutt)
