Critical Acclaim

VN 94 Vinous 2022 vintage Nov 2023

The 2022 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has another pure bouquet not dissimilar to the Mazy-Chambertin at this stage. At the moment, however, I discern less complexity; it is a little more closed. The palate is more expressive with a svelte texture and a hint of dark chocolate tincturing the red fruit. Gentle grip, building discretely in the mouth, this finishes with real gusto. Excellent. 93-95 points.

VN 93 Vinous 2019 vintage

The 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is highly perfumed on the nose, presenting an irresistible mixture of red and subtle blue fruit, very harmonious and exquisitely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fire-grained tannins. A feminine and very elegant Clos de la Roche that may well be earlier-drinking than others but feels very poised, with a touch of spice on the finish. Excellent.

RP 93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2019 vintage

The 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru opens in the glass with rich aromas of berry fruit, loamy soil, peonies, dark chocolate and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and elegantly muscular, it's generous and enveloping, with velvety tannins and fine depth at the core. Bright and lively, it's another wine that marries maturity with freshness.

RP 92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2019 vintage

Unwinding in the glass with aromas of plums, orange zest, vine smoke and loamy soil, Rousseau's 2021 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with powdery tannins, bright acids and a long, mineral finish.
