Critical Acclaim
The 2022 Fleurie Clos de la Grand Cour comes from the 6.5-hectare walled vineyard that surrounds the family house, mainly 40- to 50-year-old vines, aged one-third in foudres and two-thirds in used barrels. This has a more complex bouquet than the Chapelle des Bois, a touch more intensity and ripeness with vivacious red cherries and crushed strawberries. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy and exuberant red fruit, a healthy sprinkling of white pepper and a very cohesive and persistent finish. Superb.

The 2024 Fleurie is a blend of 20% from Clos de la Grand Cour, supplemented by fruit from Château Poncié on similar soils around the château itself, aged in barrel and 64hl foudres. It has an attractive bouquet with raspberry and wild strawberry scents. Fine delineation. The palate is well balanced with vivacious red cherry and strawberry fruit, quite smooth, less brittle in texture than the "Tous Ensemble". It is ready to drink now and over the next four to five years.
