Critical Acclaim
The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis Village has a pronounced stem addition on the nose: cracked black pepper and damp mulch scents percolating through the mainly red fruit. Nicely focused and fresh. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and smooth in texture with black cherries and raspberry fruit. There’s a crisp bead of acidity with a sprightly, black pepper-tinged finish. There’s a lot of typicité here, which lowers it a couple of ticks.
Aromas of dark berries, plums, vine smoke and spices introduce the 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis Village, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless wine that’s fresh, flavorful and refined. While the higher appellations tend to grab the limelight, this is a lovely bottle in the making.
The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis Village is pretty and expressive, bursting with aromas of plums, orange zest and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy palate. It's fine-boned and immediate.
The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis Village has an open bouquet with notes of wild strawberries, Morello cherries and a faint touch of damp loamy soil. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannins. It has modest depth, attenuating a little toward the finish. Drink this over the next five or six years.
