A blend of 60% Grenache and 20% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2022 Cotes du Rhone Villages Plan de Dieu Cuvee des Galets spent only eight months in concrete prior to bottling. Scents of sunbaked stones, dried herbes de Provence and black cherries are joined by a charming hint of licorice on the nose. The 2022 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Plan De Dieu Les Galets from Domaine Les Aphillanthes has a solid nose of red and black berries, pepper, dried earth, leather, and Provençal herbs. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, it’s medium-bodied, nicely balanced, with supple yet present tannins and outstanding length.
