A stunning limited-edition añejo. The golden color and caramel scent hint at what’s to come: sweet agave flavor, a lingering whisper of smoke and mellow notes of tropical fruit, Sauternes and butterscotch.

Last reviewed in 2001/Four Stars. Attractive and bright pale yellow/gold color; superb purity. Initial sniffs offer highlights of marshmallow, vanilla, oaky and sawdust; secondary sniffs following seven minutes of aeration feature the vanilla aspect as well as eeafy /floral notes not noticed in the first inhalations; a smashingly lovely and elegant bouquet. Entry is firm, delightfully oily, mildly peppery and oaky sweet; midpalate is elegant, slightly toasty, medium viscous, herbal and delicate sweet. Finishes softly, with a sweet oak ending. I'm gladly upping the ante on the rating to five stars. Exquisitely tasty.
