This tempting, trim wine is alive with red-cherry, rhubarb and raspberry flavors that hold back a bit on ripeness but offer a palate-tingling vibrancy and great balance. Because of its tempting restraint yet good focus and linger finish, it keeps calling for another sip. Best from 2024.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Valenti Ranch impresses with its aromatic presence. On the palate, the 2019 feels a bit light, but that is deceptive as there is plenty of the energy and persistence that make Mendocino Pinots so distinctive. Dark red/purplish fruit, crushed leaves and earthy notes add attractive dark shades.
