Critical Acclaim

JD 98 Jeb Dunnuck 2021 vintage 7/21/2023

Deep but transparent ruby, the 2021 Pinot Noir DuMOL Estate Vineyard is brooding with pine, pure black cherry, and licorice aromas. Medium to full-bodied, it offers bright acidity, ripe warming spice, and pure fruit, with notes of clove and mossy earth floating underneath. Drink 2025–2045. (Audrey Frick)

RP 97 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2021 vintage Jun 15, 2023

The 2021 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard comes from Swan and Calera selection vines planted in 2004, and it is exceptionally expressive and energetic this vintage. It gains aromatic intensity as it airs in the glass, blossoming from red cherry and Italian plum to allspice, Campari, licorice and hibiscus. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and refreshing, its power derived from highly concentrated fruit, and it boasts a flourish of ultra spicy accents across the long finish. (Erin Brooks)

JD 96 Jeb Dunnuck 2022 vintage

From the estate’s top vineyard, planted with 100% Calera clone in more clay soil, the 2022 Pinot Noir DuMOL Estate Vineyard boasts a ripe ruby color and classic aromas of pure cherries, candied roses, sweet Asian spices, and sweet sap. Medium-bodied, it’s elegant and refined on the palate, with a silky texture, an approachable feel, and a fresh, clean, soft, stony finish. Drink 2024-2036.

RP 96 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2022 vintage

The 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard comes from high-density, Swan and Calera-clone vines planted in 2004. Grapes were harvested on August 15-16, well before the Labor Day heat wave. This has expressive, wild aromas of black and red berries, blood orange, earth, violet and botanicals. The light-bodied palate features concentrated, spicy fruit. Its mouthwatering acidity and powdery tannins give it a sense of weightlessness, and it has a long, detailed finish. 810 cases were made.

SP 90 Wine Spectator 2022 vintage November 4, 2024

Plump, polished and friendly in feel, this offers plum, cherry and blood orange puree notes coated with a gloss of red licorice through the finish. Drink now through 2027. 766 cases made.
