DuMOL DuMOL Wester Reach Chardonnay 2024 750ml

A bright yellow color, the 2022 Chardonnay Wester Reach is a textbook example of this vintage, with a lot of elegance and a wide drinking window. From the Russian River Valley and aged in 25% new oak barrels for 11 months, it takes on more glycerol richness and a rounded profile. A great wine out of the gate, it captures the sunny feel of the region, but it’s light on its feet and closes with a great finish. This is a crowd-pleaser of a wine, and I would be happy to have this on my table at any stage. Drink 2024–2032. (Audrey Frick)

So smooth, silky and lush yet fresh, balanced and lively, too. Lots of baked apples, lemon zest and creme brulee on the palate. Long, linear and expansive in the finish. Drink now or hold.

Lively aromas of green pear, toasted hazelnut and apple blossom waft from the glass on the nose of this Chardonnay, while the palate brings plush texture, zippy acid and flavors of Meyer lemon, pineapple, sage, nectarine and shattered shells before a long and elegant finish.

The 2023 Chardonnay Wester Reach is blended from several vineyards including Flax, El Diablo and Heintz. Grapes were harvested September 14 to October 14, and the wine was matured for 11 months in 27% new French oak barrels, followed by four months in tank. It has enveloping aromas of peach, lemon peel, custard, toast and matchstick. The full-bodied palate is satiny and mouth-coating with concentrated flavors. It’s balanced by taut acidity and has a long, luxuriously creamy finish. 4,600 cases were made.

An expressive version, offering notes of mango, nectarine and dried apricot on a succulent and fleshy frame, with juicy accents of ginger, lemon balm and orange zest lingering on the finish. Drink now. 3,500 cases made. (MaryAnn Worobiec)

The 2022 Chardonnay Wester Reach is sourced from several vineyards, including Flax (40%) and Dumol Estate (15%), and grapes were harvested from August 18–September 7. It sits low in the glass at this stage, with understated notes of peach, mushroom powder, flint and cheese rind. The light-bodied palate is soft and rounded with saline-tinged fruit and a gently flinty finish. 3,500 cases were made. (Erin Brooks)

Offers firm, generous notes of apple, pear and lemon up front, with accents of citrus zest and details of green tea, spices and toasted almond. Additional notes of apricot pastry, fennel seed and kumquat come in on the finish, with solid acidity and a lingering note of almond skin. Drink now. 4,600 cases made.
