Dunites Wine Company Dunites Dune Child Syrah 2023 750ml

Fermented with 33% whole clusters, the 2023 Syrah Dune Child will be bottled in July and was sourced entirely from the Hi Kite Vineyard. The nose shows a red-fruited, herbal side of the grape, with aromas of olive brine, dried cloves and dried purple flowers with lovely saline lift. The palate is svelte and juicy with excellent elasticity and grip, finishing with succulent purple fruits and drying, fine tannins.

The Syrah Dune Child is packed with dense, dark fruit intermingled with strong savory and earthy notes. Black fruit, olive, mocha, licorice and cloves build nicely. This was aged for six months in neutral 500-liter puncheons and bottled in May. This feels a bit tight and not yet fully formed; perhaps it needed more time in barrel.<br/><br/>
