The deep ruby 2022 Dolcetto D'Alba is sunny and juicy with notes of blackberry with a hint of blueberries, crushed flowers, fresh soil, and a light minty lift. It’s light on its feet and reveals good ripeness, with a kiss of sweet fruit, fine tannins, and a clean finish. It’s elegant, charming, and nicely balanced, with a wonderfully approachable feel. I would drink this while it’s young, as it’s just so fresh and pleasing now.

The Elio Grasso 2023 Dolcetto d'Alba dei Grassi is bright, punchy and chewy. Made in stainless steel only, it offers a charming interpretation of the grape with a bold cherry element and chalky powdery notes that are very attractive. The hot vintage does peep through with aromas of raisin and dried currant. It finishes on a short and simple note. Some 15,000 bottles were created.
