Critical Acclaim

JS 92 James Suckling 2020 vintage

Aromas of cherries and cranberries, subtle notes of ground spices with a floral and citrusy character to it. Medium-bodied with a bright red-fruited character and dusty texture to its tannins. Savory and juicy. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Very attractive, but better after 2026.

WE 91 Wine Enthusiast 2018 vintage 9/1/2022

Violet, rose and woodland berry aromas mingle with a whiff of leather on this medium-bodied red. It’s polished, savory and already at the start of its drinking window, with juicy red cherry, strawberry and baking spice flavors accompanied by lithe tannins and fresh acidity. Drink through 2028. (Kerin O’Keefe)

JS 91 James Suckling 2018 vintage Sunday, October 2, 2022

The raspberry and red-cherry aromas and flavors are very clean and there’s some fine, lightly firm tannin that gives some structure, but this remains principally a fresh, medium-bodied and fluid wine. Approachable now, but better from 2023. (James Suckling)

SP 91 Wine Spectator 2018 vintage December 15, 2022

A supple red, with macerated plum and cherry flavors that hold court, while savory elements of eucalyptus and juniper add depth. Reveals tar and earthy accents, with a kick of tannins at the end. Best from 2025 through 2042. 25,000 cases made, 3,750 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)

SP 91 Wine Spectator 2020 vintage

Ripe strawberry, cherry and berry flavors are accented with wild herbs and tar in this tightly wound, tannic red. Juicy and persistent on the long finish. Best from 2027 through 2042.
