Critical Acclaim

VN 97 Vinous 2019 vintage Jan 2022

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, heady wine. Even though it was just bottled, the 2019 possesses remarkable textural intensity. A whole range of floral and savory notes open as this statuesque Cabernet shows off its personality. This is an especially rich, bombastic Cabernet from Ric Forman. That is especially evident when tasted next to the 2018. (Antonio Galloni)

JD 96 Jeb Dunnuck 2019 vintage 5/4/2022

Similarly hued, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley offers a classic, old school Napa Cabernet nose of darker currants, green tobacco, spring flowers, camphor, and new leather. As with the 2018, it plays in a more medium to full-bodied, elegant style, has ripe yet certainly present tannins, and a great finish. The 2019 is more accessible and open than the 2018 and should continue drinking brilliantly for another two decades if stored correctly. (Jeb Dunnuck)

VN 96 Vinous 2018 vintage Jan 2021

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is absolutely impeccable. Best of all, it won’t require years in the cellar to be enjoyable. In fact, it is quite expressive today. Juicy dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice, leather and cinnamon are some of the many notes that flesh out in the glass. Silky and supple, with no hard edges, Ric Forman’s 2018 is a thing of beauty. The 2018 is a bit more open in the early going than Forman fans are likely to expect.

SP 92 Wine Spectator 2019 vintage October 28, 2024

This tilts toward an old-school feel, with sweet bay and savory aspects to its core of gently mulled red and black cherry fruit, all guided by an understated but persistent structure. Sanguine and iron notes underscore the finish as the fruit lingers prettily. Drink now through 2038. 1,827 cases made.
