This shows subtle notes of dried cherries, raspberries and hints of ground spices, rose hips and wet stones. Fresh, juicy and flavorful, with a medium body and tense, structured tannins. Firm and a little chalky in the finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

As with the other two wines presented from Gagliole, the 2020 Chianti Classico Rubiolo is entirely produced from Sangiovese. It is the most lifted and red-fruited of the three wines, and has aromas of candied strawberry, raspberry, crushed roses, and licorice. It is medium bodied and approachable, with silky tannins, juicy red berries, and pleasant refreshment without austerity. This is a polished and altogether easy-drinking style to enjoy over the next 5–7 years.

A vibrant, well-defined red, with cherry, raspberry, floral and mineral flavors fused to a linear profile and firm structure. A bit austere still, yet the lasting impression is ripe fruit. Drink now through 2028. 3,750 cases made, 1,500 cases imported.
