A rich, deep and intriguing nose, showing fresh blackberries, wet stones, graphite, iodine and blue flowers. A full-bodied tannat with dense but polished tannins. Tight, but caressing. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)

This is all about red fruit in its fresh plum scent, then oak tannins add baking spice and a velvet nap. For some tasters, the fruit did not completely fill in the oak frame, but for this taster, the wine felt very tannat. It should benefit from a year or two in the cellar.

A generous and fruit-filled version, with pepper and cardamom accents added to the juicy blueberry and plum core. Offers traces of smoke to the finish around well-integrated tannins. Drink now through 2030. 4,500 cases imported. (Aaron Romano)
