The 2023 Chablis Vaucoupin 1er Cru has a crisp bouquet of lime and Anjou pear, and a light grass clipping scent. Energetic and focused. The palate is fresh and vibrant with wonderful weight and density. A crisp line of acidity emerge toward a harmonious and quite persistent finish. Bitter lemon leaves the tongue tingling on the aftertaste. Very classy. (Neal Martin)

Sourced from a south-facing site planted in 1990, Picq’s 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Vaucoupin opens in the glass with notes of crisp pear, peach, and Granny Smith apple, mingled with hints of orange peel. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and textural yet vibrant, offering considerable concentration, racy acidity and an engaging, charming profile, before culminating in a persistent, precise finish. It derives from the opposite side of the river from Vosgros.

The 2024 Chablis Vaucoupin 1er Cru, which comes from vines planted in 1990 and 2005, has a strict, focused bouquet that's very minerally with subtle cockle/oyster shells scents. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. It's a touch creamier in texture than the Vosgros with more depth on the finish. This is one of Picq's richer cuvées this year. 91-93 points.
