About This Wine

Tasting Notes

Deep, opaque purple-ruby in color. Opulent and highly aromatic, offering intense scents of crushed cassis, ripe black plum, blueberry liqueur, dark chocolate, and cedarwood, accompanied by notes of espresso and warm baking spice. Full-bodied, plush, and voluptuous on the palate, packed with concentrated layers of blackcurrant jam, licorice, and cocoa powder. Supported by broad, velvety tannins and subtle graphite oak structural lines that transition into a long, warm, and lingering finish.

Producer Notes

Founded by Kathryn and Craig Hall, Hall Wines crafts benchmark Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons sourced from estate vineyards across St. Helena, Rutherford, Alexander Valley, and partner sites throughout the appellation. Practicing organic viticulture and precision winemaking under director Megan Gunderson, Hall focuses on low-yield harvesting, small-lot fermentations, and meticulous barrel aging. The flagship Napa Valley bottling captures the classic richness, dense dark-fruit core, and supple tannic architecture of the valley floor and hillside sites combined.

Critical Acclaim

SP 89 Wine Spectator 2021 vintage

Ripe and frankly forward, with a burst of açaí and black cherry compote notes infused with licorice and a twinge of alder smoke through the polished, fan-friendly finish. Drink now through 2027. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 10,000 cases made.
