Critical Acclaim
The 2021 High on the Hog is composed of 25% Grenache, 25% Zinfandel, 20% Syrah, 14% Petite Sirah, 12% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Mourvèdre. It’s scented of red and black plums with touches of tar, turned earth, coffee, chocolate and spicy undertones. The medium to full-bodied palate has generous, juicy fruit, supple, approachable tannins and a long, flavorful finish streaked with spicy accents. This is very easy to drink and offers great quality for the price.
Generous and juicy, with frisky black raspberry and currant flavors accented by roasted sage and savory white pepper. Grenache, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2030. 6,500 cases made.
Clean aromas of cassis, lilac and tar make for a rich nose on this bottling, yet it retains freshness. The texture is both creamy and firm on the palate, where the full-bodied fruit flavors pick up spice into the finish.
The 2021 High on the Hog is wickedly fresh and floral with bright cherry-berry fruit offset by cedary spice. This is velvety smooth with juicy acidity and ripe black fruits offset by sour citrus. It finishes spicy and fresh, leaving the mouth watering for more as violet pastille notes linger.
