Hardy Hardy VSOP NV 700ml

The aroma of this Cognac from the Fine Champagne region shows concentrated vanilla and oak, with a hint of allspice. The palate resounds with plenty of vanilla, plus mocha richness and fleeting sweet spice on the midpalate. The elongated, generously spiced finish reflects oak, clove, black pepper and allspice. Consider for a dessert accompaniment.

Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, matured for at least 8 years. Gorgeous auburn/henna color; superb purity. Opening whiffs detect powerful aromas of praline, candy bar, nougat, new leather, black tea; second inhalations following further air contact reveal hints of tomato paste, BBQ sauce, caramelized sugar, caramelized onion, chocolate covered raisins. Entry is soft, bittersweet, bean-like, nearly fudge-like, roasted, with hints of bacon fat and coffee; midpalate features the coffee bean aspect as well as the BBQ sauce flavor that’s concentrated and focused on dried fruits, mostly berries. Aftertaste is extended, chewy, drier than the midpalate and resiny/maple-like.
