Critical Acclaim

JD 94 Jeb Dunnuck 2023 vintage

The 2023 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is also from the Russian River Valley. It’s a bright ruby color and boasts a seductive perfume with notes of fresh leather, ripe cherries, sweet spices, and forest earth. The palate is medium-framed and has a focused and bright feel, with refreshing, mouthwatering acidity, ripe tannins, and a gently tapering, spiced finish. Drink 2026-2040.

JD 93 Jeb Dunnuck 2022 vintage 6/27/2024

Pouring a deeper ruby/magenta color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is ripe and layered in the glass, with a generous, inviting, pure perfume of black cherries, cola, sweet baking spice, and forest floor. Medium-bodied, it has a lot of charm and a good, weightless feel, with fine tannins and a clean finish. I love that it never feels heavy but is 100% Russian River Valley in character. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. This is a lot of wine for the value. (Audrey Frick)

JS 93 James Suckling 2023 vintage

A lush and pleasurable wine with aromas of red roses and baking spices and flavors of juicy red fruit. A full-bodied pinot with silky tannins, a rich and satisfying finish and pleasant bitter orange rind at the end. Drink now.

JD 92 Jeb Dunnuck 2021 vintage 7/21/2023

A youthful and saturated ruby hue, the 2021 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is ripe and spicy, with aromas of fresh pine, cherry liqueur, and fresh wildflowers. Medium to full-bodied, with ample richness on the palate, it reveals notes of ripe berries, turned forest floor, and toasted baking spice, and it has a classic feel, with good structure and a long finish. Drink it over the next few years. 15,000 cases were produced. (Audrey Frick)

SP 92 Wine Spectator 2023 vintage February 2, 2026

Juicy and lively, with dark cherry paste and bramble notes that knit well, while iris, rose hip and violet fill in throughout. An apple wood accent frames the finish judiciously. Drink now through 2032. 9,000 cases made.

VN 92 Vinous 2023 vintage January 1, 2026

The 2023 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) is a classic wine from this appellation. Exuberant and fruit-forward in its bouquet, it’s more restrained and cohesive on the palate. Gentle acids and powdery tannins carry the 2023 through the finish, leaving behind echoes of brambly fruit and grilled herbs. It’s another Hartford wine with impressive balance.

WE 91 Wine Enthusiast 2023 vintage

This vibrant Pinot delivers flavors of black cherry, tart raspberry, cinnamon, and orange peel on the nose. The palate is zippy and buoyant, with pithy texture, bright acid, and flavors of pomegranate, berry gastrique, cedar, and rose petals lingering through the finish.

WE 90 Wine Enthusiast 2022 vintage

A darker and more savory style of Pinot Noir, this wine shows aromas of shiitake, black cherry and fresh herbs and earth on the nose. The palate gives a streak of raspberry-lemon acidity to balance some grippy tannins and cola spice flavors on the finish.
