About This Wine

Tasting Notes

Deep golden-amber in color. Intensely aromatic and expressive on the nose, bursting with aromas of candied mango, dried apricot, honeyed peach, papaya, and orange marmalade. Full-bodied, thick, and velvety on the palate, presenting lush flavors of tropical fruit nectar, lychee, and wildflower honey. Despite its immense concentration and residual sweetness, a brilliant beam of natural acidity cuts through the mid-palate, keeping the long, decadent finish fresh and balanced rather than cloying.

Producer Notes

Co-founded in 1975 by Donald Ziraldo and Karl Kaiser, Inniskillin is Canada's pioneering estate winery and a globally recognized icon of Icewine. Harvested at night in deep winter when temperatures naturally drop to at least -8°C (17°F) or colder, the frozen Vidal grapes are pressed immediately while still frozen. The process yields only a fraction of highly concentrated, sugar-rich juice, resulting in a world-class dessert wine boasting unmatched aromatic complexity, viscous texture, and vibrant balancing acidity.

Critical Acclaim

WE 94 Wine Enthusiast 2022 vintage 7/1/2024

An aromatic set of peaches, lemon drop hard candies, honeycomb and licorice goldenrod sets a nice tone. Candied yellow apple and orange sorbet flavors coat the palate, while a touch of chamomile tea floats on the perimeter. This ice wine feels lively and energetic, buoyed by crisp acidity.
