Critical Acclaim
Lovely caramel and oak nose; creamy, lush and rich with beautiful sweet oak, vanilla and toast notes; masterful and intense with great length and amazing elegance, purity and finesse’ stunning and exceptional.
Like a liquid (if boozy) apple pie, this blended whiskey offers bold, rich aromatics, with lots of dried and stewed fruit flavors and butterscotch. The drawn-out finish incorporates touches of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and even a mouthwatering sprinkle of salt.
Sumptuously rich and intense whiskey emerges from these double-charred casks; a seduction of butterscotch, treacle, toasted nuts, scorched coconut, raisin, and vanilla essence. Secure in its deep-centered sweetness, it revels in caramelized sugar, dark vanilla, pecan nut slice, crème brûlée, peppery spice, and fleshy fruits gloomily submerged in sticky, umber syrups. Memorable for its long, satisfying, toasted aftertaste, heavy on the vanilla and raisins.
Beautiful topaz / old gold color; some sediment spotted floating in the core. Out of the gate, the opening aroma is remarkably fruity and biscuity, almost like sugar cookies, yet there's also a yeasty/doughy quality that's fresh and vivid; with aeration the bouquet turns a little spicy and toasted that adds a pleasing aspect to the fruit and cookie batter scents. Entry taste is like buttered toasted wheat bread with cherry preserves and is consequently gently sweet in an old honey manner; the substantial mouthfeel is delightful at midpalate, as are the rich oak and sap tastes that balance the honey element with grace. Concludes bittersweet, bordering on astringent, oaky/woody/toasty and vividly robust.
