It’s 90 proof but smooth and sweet with spicy and notes of vanilla oak; mellow and perfumed with gingerbread and toasty oak; long and lush.

Topaz color; impeccable clarity. I notice touches of beeswax, peanuts and cornmeal in the first sniffs after the pour; giving it another seven minutes of exposure to air, I find the bouquet expanding only marginally to include vinyl. Entry is pleasantly straight forward and uncomplicated as tastes of light toffee and brown sugar take hold; midpalate is generously chewy, corny sweet and mildly oaky, with the 90 proof element never an issue. Well-made, as are all Beam whiskeys.
