The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot, brought up mostly in new barrels. It’s a killer bottle of wine offering lots of ripe black fruits intermixed with savory herbs, melted chocolate, and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows the lush, round, velvety style of the 2019 vintage and is already impossible to resist. It’s going to evolve for 15+ years if well stored. (Jeb Dunnuck)

Composed of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall bursts with plums, chocolate, tobacco, violets, and incense. Rich and full-bodied on the palate, it shows a plush, sexy personality with velvety tannins and a round, layered mouthfeel. This big, ripe wine will shine for 15+ years.

There are 6,500 cases of the flagship 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall, based largely on fruit from the Sacrashe Vineyard, at the eastern edge of the Rutherford AVA. A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Merlot, aged in 75% new barrels (mainly Taransaud), it’s cedary on the nose, with plenty of cassis and black cherries in support. Full-bodied and plush, this well-endowed effort finishes long and softly dusty, with just a touch of alcoholic warmth. (Joe Czerwinski)

A blend anchored by the winery's Sacrashe Vineyard, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall features scents of cinnamon, cedar, ripe cherries and some dusty-loam notes. It's full-bodied, lush, soft and expansive, adding in a touch of vanilla on the softly dusty finish. It's delicious but shows a bit less individualistic character than the Hall wines from Stags Leap and Diamond Mountain districts.

The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall isn't as dark and super ripe as the 2021 or 2019. Cassis and cherry notes are nicely framed by mocha and toast on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is slightly coarse and open-knit, marked by hints of alcoholic warmth on the finish.
