The 2019 Vignoles Turkey Run Vineyard comes in with 5.9 grams per liter of residual sugar, 10.8 of total acidity and 12.7% alcohol. There is teeth-rattling acidity on the finish here, but this does have enough sugar and concentration to prevent it from being impossibly shrill. You won’t think of the sugar, as the acidity makes this perceptibly dry, but it does perform the useful function of creating balance. I rather loved the balance here, not to mention the silky texture. In warm weather, this will be a wonderfully refreshing drink that wakes everyone up. It seems rather elegant as well as very fresh. It is well done, and it is poised to age well. I’m always hesitant about long drinking windows for wines like this, but it has a good chance to make me look good rather than bad. I have certainly seen some proof in years gone by that they can age. Still, this is a bit of a risky projection, but so be it. There were 150 cases produced.
