Critical Acclaim

VN 93 Vinous 2019 vintage Sep 2021

The 2019 Chianti Classico La Misse di Candialle is packed with red/purplish fruit, spice, rose petal and blood orange. Translucent and super-expressive, the 2019 is another winner in this range from Candialle. Here, too, the purity of the flavors is magnificent. (Antonio Galloni)

VN 92 Vinous 2022 vintage Jun 2024

The 2022 Chianti Classico La Misse di Candialle is a fabulous straight Chianti Classico. The 2022 is a decidedly rich edition of La Misse, but it retains the purity that is such a signature of the best wines here. Dark red cherry, red plum, mocha, spice and rose petal build into the creamy, resonant finish. A dollop of Colorino rounds out the blend of Sangiovese, Malvasia Nera and Canaiolo. Aging took place in 80% cement and 20% cask. As appealing as this is, a year or two in bottle should help the tannins soften further. (Antonio Galloni)
