Bodegas Lan Lan D-12 Rioja 2020 750ml

The 2022 D-12, a 100% Tempranillo from Rioja, was aged 12 months in new American and French oak. Oak spice leads the nose, joined by violet and ripe plum. On the palate, it is dry and juicy, with lightly gripping tannins and a finish of black fruit and wood. It nods to modern styling while remaining rooted in Rioja’s traditional framework.

The 2020 D-12 is a parcel wine made exclusively from Tempranillo sourced from old vines in Viñaspre (Rioja Alavesa), Briones and San Vicente de la Sonsierra (Rioja Alta). It spent 15 months aging in new French and American oak barrels. This liqueur-like red exhibits aromas of sponge cake and chocolate, accompanied by notes of blackberry marmalade and hazelnut. The palate is dry, creamy and plush, delivering a lingering experience with a velvety caramel finish. The D-12 embodies a contemporary approach within the Rioja region.<br/><br/>

Spiced cherries and dark plums on the nose with touches of chocolate and porcini mushrooms. Medium- to full-bodied with structured, fine-grained tannins and a long, spicy finish. Drink from 2025.
