A smooth red, this evokes cedar, plum, black currant, blackberry, vanilla and resin aromas and flavors. Broad and dense, with accents of leather, earth and tobacco on the long finish. Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2036. 3,252 cases imported.

The 2022 Le Serre Nuove Dell'Ornellaia is 60% Merlot, with the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. In the glass, it boasts a deep red/purple-tinged color and offers pretty aromas of graphite, currants, cedar, hints of vanilla, and Mediterranean herbs. The palate has rich concentration, with plush richness on the mid-palate, a velvety and juicy texture, good freshness, and a balanced warmth on the finish. It has very pleasing freshness through the finish with delicate Mediterranean savor. Allow another year for this vintage to come together more completely. Drink 2026-2040.
