Critical Acclaim

VN 93 Vinous 2019 vintage

The 2019 Perigee Estate Seven Hills Vineyard is remarkably pretty, with violets, lavender and crushed stone, giving way to hints of black berry. It's silky and sleek, the word "radiant" comes to mind, as energizing acidity propels its ripe wild berry fruits, adding depths to the sweet spices within. This tapers off with an abundance of energy, with gentle tannins, making for an easy-to-like style despite its youthful state.

JD 93 Jeb Dunnuck 2019 vintage

The 2019 Perigee Estate Seven Hills Vineyard is a similar blend to the Ferguson, checking in as 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec. It's another pure, complex, aromatic red revealing lots of darker currant and berry fruits as well as notes of tobacco, truffle, chocolate, and damp earth. A darker, slightly more herbal release, it offers building tannins, medium to full body, and terrific balance. It's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for 15-20 years without issues.

SP 88 Wine Spectator 2019 vintage November 2022

Taut and tightly wound, with tannins that are fighting against appealing black currant, crushed stone and tea flavors. Only time will tell how this plays out. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Best after 2023. 1,010 cases made.
