Well-built, with a dense core of red and black currant reduction flavors held in check for now, while iron-tinged sweet tobacco, warm earth and singed apple wood notes hold sway. Martini’s 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Rosso Vineyard has the site’s characteristic mint and herbal overtones, but it also offers deep cassis and plum notes. Full-bodied, ripe but firm, with typical Cabernet Sauvignon varietal austerity and reserve, framed by fine-grained, silky tannins that linger on the finish, it’s a classic example of Monte Rosso Cabernet.
