Mas de Mancuso Mancuso Garnacha 2018 750ml

The 2018 Mancuso is a new middle-range Garnacha that comes from two plots, one on slate soils and the other one on clay and limestone, both head-pruned and around 60 years old. It had a long maceration after fermenting with indigenous yeast. It matured mostly in 3,000-liter concrete, with only 35% of the volume put in 500-liter oak barrels until bottling. It feels quite primary, grapey, with ripe berry aromas and a medium to full-bodied palate with abundant, slightly dusty tannins and a chalky texture. It has the ripe flavors of the Garnacha from the zone that is somehow halfway between the style of those from Gredos and the ones from Priorat. 6,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2020.
